Brief Intro
Geekton was founded by two students from Chengdu No.7 High School. A two-hour forum aims to provide its participants with a platform for intensive discussion and profound insights, and a way to “do more, learn more and achieve more”. We also aim at cultivating the participants’ creative and critical thinking ability and the analysis ability more comprehensively and independently.

Eloquence & Confidence
Not everyone is born with the ability of talking freely and confidently in front of others. Surmounting such a flaw in nature requires long hours of practice accompanied with dreary and tedious work. Geekton provides everyone with a perfect stage, keen audiences and great topics for you to enhance that skill even without yourself noticing it.
Critical Thinking
Instead, it means to think independently and have your own ideas. Critical thinking parts us from those who yell vague and meaningless catch words on the internet. At Geekton, we offer you a way of think critically by exposing you to novel ideas and articles, which will help you better understand how the society works and be better prepared for your future.
Language Fluency
According to our experience, the best option is to gain some improvement is to expose yourself to a pure language environment. As all our articles and forums are in English, we create this particular kind of environment for every participant. Although there might be some academic terms in the articles we provided, we tend to not to make all our discussion too complicated.
Willingness to give back
This is what we value the most. Life isn’t just about obtaining, it’s also about giving. Giving brings more pleasure than obtaining. When you join clubs at schools, almost every group tends to focus on their own welfare, but Geekton is different, we are born to devote ourselves to making a difference. You will realize that Geekton is all about giving back, and everything else that comes with giving back.

Peace and Tranquility
This is the century is inundated with all kinds of short video apps occupying our leisure hours, with a great number of youth suffering from mobile-game-addictions, and this is also the century with more people beginning to celebrate meaningless pop festivals like May 20th. It’s hard for someone to literally slow down a bit and start thinking and looking back at all. Right here at Geekton we provide you with this very opportunity. We meet every Saturday in a tranquil conference room, sharing knowledge and ideas, and talking about interesting topics rather than merely eating, sleeping, and having fun.

With the wheel of innovation and exploration spinning faster and faster, it is getting increasingly hard for us to make some real scientific breakthroughs. With no doubt, this world needs geniuses for such breakthroughs, but what’s more needed is those who can shoulder the burden of the whole world, who urgently want to give back to this world and make it a better place. At Geekton, a door is opened for you to do more, not just for yourself but the whole world and everyone around you. Geekton is not just a place where we discuss different topics and free speech, but also a team where ideas, knowledge, and feelings are shared, understood, and preserved. It is a team where our devotion serves to nourish our minds, where connections are made, where bonds are built. This is a group that can and will make a difference.
